Wednesday
We started our day driving into Apalachicola for fresh biscuits at the Biscuit Factory. Joni had a plain one and I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese version. Both were very tasty and could not have been fresher!
Before leaving our VRBO I made a fresh batch of coffee, the first time for this trip.

Our next destination was the laundromat in Port St. Joe. We've been here before.
While waiting for the laundry Joni did some shopping along the main street of Port St. Joe.
Once our laundry was done, we drove to Mexico Beach which is the next town to the west along the Florida panhandle. Mexico Beach was completely destroyed by Hurricane Michael, a Cat 5 storm, in October of 2018. Michael caused seventy-two recorded fatalities and more than $25 billion in damage. Its winds were measured at 155 miles per hour (249 kilometers per hour) at their strongest.
Today there is almost no evidence of that damage.
We stopped for lunch at Killer Seafood, a food truck in Mexico Beach. I forgot this place existed, but I did remember it fondly when Joni suggested we see if they're still in business. Fortunately they are!

We returned to our VRBO around 5 pm. So I had enough time to squeeze in a bike ride before dinner. The house behind me is not our VRBO, but rather a home my sister rented several years ago.
For dinner we drove back to Apalachicola to one of our old favorites, The Owl Cafe, and again we were very pleased. They still have it.
