Day 4

If Day 4’s activities appear were similar to Day 3’s, you're right, they were.  We returned to Nectar’s for breakfast and enjoyed another spectacular meal.

Buttered Pecan French Toast ~ Thick slices of brioche topped with bourbon pecan sauce and a scoop of

butter pecan ice

From Nectar’s we returned to a parking spot along the Intercoastal Waterway, resumed reading  section one of the Sunday NY Times for one hour before returning to our campground.

We  moved our campsite and contemplated the afternoon’s activities.  Visiting President Biden’s home won the debate, so we jumped back in the van and headed toward Rehoboth Beach.  Joe wasn’t greeting visitors, so the visit really turned into a drive by that was just long enough to snap a few pictures before the Secret Service showed up.

Back at the campsite, the temp had risen into the low 80s so I went for another bike ride and Joni napped.  I decided to follow yesterday’s route with a couple of minor changes…

While making a U-turn on a narrow path in front of the closed Fort Miles museum, I crashed and ended up some road rash on my left calf and elbow.   That wasn’t bad considering the last time I crashed I tore my left rotator cuff.

Returning to the campsite I removed all the gravel from my left leg in the shower and then we drove back to downtown Lewes for a 4 pm dinner reservation at the Mexican restaurant Agave.  We thought we would be joining the senior citizen hour, but since it was Cinco de Maio, an all afternoon happy hour crowd was already running at full speed.

Empanadas, jalapeno rockets, guacamole, queso, and ???

Half price margaritas were the drink of choice; even Joni indulged.  The special holiday menu was too good to resist as well, so we over ordered several delicious plates

We were back at our campsite around 6 pm, it was too windy for a fire, so we retired to the van and listened to the Sox whip the Tigers.
