We were on the road by 7:00 AM, heading for Glastonbury to watch our grandsons', Jackie and Billy, weekly swimming lesson. They do this every Saturday morning, but we've never had the pleasure of watching them in person. Jack is 6 and Billy is 4. So glad we saw them, definitely worth the drive and early start.
The boys love their swimming lessons but I think they get as much enjoyment out of using the blow dryers after their lessons!
After swimming we returned to Nick and Chetty's home. Unfortunately our visit was a short one since Jack was invited to go for a ride on a real Thomas the Tank Engine train ride in Essex, CT.
Singapore Chow Fun Noodle, Seasonal Vegetables, Peanuts
Walnut Shrimp, Candied Walnuts, Walnut Aioli, Pomegranates
Strawberry Coconut Snow, Chocolate, Coconut, Fresh Strawberries
Overall, our dinner was outstanding, much better than any Chinese food I've had in years, and that includes my trip to China in 2008.
Returning to our hotel room we watched the Derby and the then Celtics.

That meal looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt was, and we really selected the restaurant only because it was in the hotel. Truly serendipitous.
DeleteWhat a great start to your travel!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue!
DeleteLooks like a beautiful hotel. What a lovely relaxing night to the start of a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you are both able to enjoy these journeys. Be well and safe travels.
ReplyDeleteThanks Thalia. We have to get together when we return. Hope all is well.
DeleteDerby was fun.... Celtics not so much... amazing that they blew a 3-1 series lead... now all that's left until August is the Sox (ugh)
ReplyDeleteA very sad week for Boston sports fans.
DeleteNow that's the way to start your trip. Your grandkids are adorable!! I love the hairdryer picture and the ones with Billy & Jack in the submarine! I can tell they are pistols. Enjoy your trip. It looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThanks, we love seeing the boys, but they do wear us out.
DeleteAdding this hotel to the list of places to stay when we go up North
